Earlier this year, I was lucky to participate to the 2017-2018 BELAM (Belgian Antarctic Meteorites) expedition in the Sor Rondane Mountains, Antarctica. Over the course of two weeks, me and colleague Steven Goderis from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel sampled over 20 different locations to look for micrometeorites. Results exceeded our expectations, as most rock detritus samples were bearing cosmic dusts!
